How to Use Cold Water to Make You More Resilient to Stress and Support Prostate Health

In this article I want to share a unique strategy with you that’ll improve your overall health and vitality, boost your cardiovascular health, strengthen your immune system, and, of course, support your prostate health…
Please keep in mind however, that the easiest way to support your Prostate Health is to take ProstaClear daily, as per the recommendations on the label.
Let’s get into it…
Short Term Stress = Long Term Resilience (and a Smaller Prostate)?
Stick with me…
This will make sense (I promise), so long as you read this article from top to bottom, in order, and give it your full attention…
Here goes…
- We know that excessive Estrogen Levels make the Prostate Grow…
- We know that, with age, more and more Testosterone gets converted into Estrogen (encouraging your Prostate to increase in size, leading to problems peeing freely and easily)…
- Given those two points, I’m sure you’ll agree that it makes sense to do everything you can to prevent your Estrogen Levels getting too high (and, even better – do things to LOWER your Estrogen Levels)…
- We know that HIGH STRESS LEVELS raise Estrogen (again, leading to likely prostate growth)…
All that said…
Short term stress can actually LOWER your Stress Levels in the long-run!
So if you are willing to expose yourself to some short term stress (just 2 minutes a day), then you should be able to LOWER your Stress Levels throughout the rest of the day, which should also lower your estrogen levels and get your prostate issues more under control.
The Key Point here is that short term stress (so long as it’s not too great), actually makes you STRONGER and HEALTHIER.
Weight training is one example…
You go to the gym, lift some weights and actually cause microtrauma and tears in your muscles…
But then you go home, rest, recover, and your muscles grow back slightly BIGGER and STRONGER!
That’s a perfect example of using stress (in that case weight lifting) to lead to positive changes in the human body (muscle growth and strength), and a long term increase in resilience and health.
How Does This Relate to The Prostate?
Well, in the past few years Wim Hoff – also known as “The Ice Man” – has made a specific Breathing Practice and Cold Showers, very popular.
You do the breathing practice daily.
Then you take a cold shower.
The breathing practice actually makes you feel GREAT – it can even feel quite euphoric at times…
Here is Wim explaining more about the Breathing Practice:
The cold shower is miserable at first, but, over time, as you get used to it, you actually start to enjoy it. Crave it even (because it releases all kinds of feel good chemicals that literally make you feel “high”).
The cold shower is a short term stress, and has the following benefits:
- Optimizes the Cardiovascular System (heart disease the #1 killer of men in the US, so anything that optimizes the cardiovascular system is a good thing)
- Optimizes the Immune System (making you more resistance to getting ill)
- Makes you more Resilient to Stress in the long-run (and therefore: prevents you from getting overly stressed, which can raise estrogen levels. So, by becoming more resilient to stress, you make your estrogen levels LOWER, and help to reduce the size of your prostate!)
How I built up to ENJOYING cold showers:
- I started with a warm shower, then finished with 30 seconds luke warm on day 1
- Each day I gradually DECREASED the water temperature for the final 30 seconds, until after about 10 days I had the shower as cold as it would go
- Next, I increased the length of time I stayed under the cold water, until I was doing 2 minutes a each day – this took about 2 weeks (the reason for 2 minutes is because Wim says that’s the minimum time you need to stay under the cold water to get the Cardiovascular, Immune Boosting and Stress Reducing benefits)
- These days I sometimes do a warm shower first, or sometimes I’ll just go cold straight away (whichever option I do, it’s always at least 2 minutes of cold water – and “YES,” it now feels GREAT)
Who Should Not Do Cold Showers?
- Anyone who is weak or frail should not do cold showers
- Anyone who is ill (with a chest infection, cough, cold, flu, fever, anemia, generally feeling under the weather etc), should not do a cold shower until the symptoms pass
The reason why these 2 groups of people should NOT do a cold shower is because the cold shower is short term stress. Normally, the body recovers from the stress and grows STRONGER. However, if you are already compromised by being weak, frail, or having an acute illness, then it is likely best to NOT do the cold showers.
My Challenge to You:
Do the Breathing Practice and Cold Showers daily, as explained by Wim Hoff in the videos above. Try it for 30 days and I bet you’ll never look back.
I’ve been doing this practice for about a year now, and it’s really made a big difference to my overall health, mental well being and immune system.
I hope you found this article helpful.
