Are Testosterone Injections a Good Idea for Men with Low T?

If You’re Suffering from Low Testosterone You Might be Considering Injecting Testosterone… Question is: Is it Safe and Effective?

By Adam Armstrong

Before we can discuss whether or not Testosterone Injections are a good idea, let’s take a brief look at the symptoms of Low Testosterone in men…

Symptoms of Low Testosterone can include, but are not limited to:

  • Weight Gain (body-fat, not muscle)
  • Weak Bones
  • Loss of Muscle and Strength
  • Loss of Libido
  • Infertility
  • Lack of ‘Morning Wood’
  • Erectile Dysfunctions (including impotence, and premature ejaculation)
  • Changes in Sleep Patterns (either can’t sleep, or can’t stay asleep)
  • Changes in Mood (loss of confidence drive, determination, motivation, enthusiasm and so on. More negative emotions, including depression, worry, fear, stress, anxiousness etc)

As you can see from that list of symptoms, Low Testosterone is no joke. It’s not something you should turn a blind eye to.

All of which leads us to the question of:

“If You Have Low Testosterone, Are Testosterone Injections a Good Idea?”

Well, we have to break this down into the ‘legal’ and ‘illegal’ versions.

The LEGAL way to inject Testosterone – the way your Doctor might suggest – is via TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy).

The ILLEGAL way to do it would be with Anabolic Steroids.

Both are extremely prevalent in today’s society, yet both have a myriad of potential problems. Let’s take a look at them in detail…

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

According to webmd.com, low testosterone can be treated, medically, in several different ways. These include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Injections
  • Testosterone gel
  • Testosterone stick (applied like a deodorant under the arms)

However, before you rush off to your Doctor to decide which option you should go for, consider the side-effects:

  • Fluid retention
  • Acne
  • Prostate issues
  • Breast enlargement (the dreaded ‘Man Boobs’)
  • Increased risk of blood clots
  • Decreased testicular size
  • Moodiness… anger, inability to control emotions and so on
  • Increased risk of Heart Attack and Stroke

Plus, depending on where you live, TRT can be expensive. So you have 2 downsides to injecting testosterone, or using any kind of medical testosterone:

  • The cost

And:

  • The potential side-effects (some of which could be FATAL)

Anabolic Steroids

I’ve spent nearly 20 years strength training, and competing in the sport of powerlifting for about 5 years. In that time I’ve trained in both Commercial Gyms, Hardcore ‘Spit and Sawdust Gyms’, and many of these fancy new ‘Performance Centres’ (kinda like Crossfit Boxes, but not just for Crossfit!).

What I can tell you, based on my own observations, is this:

  • First, guys of all ages – from late teens, through to older guys aged in their 50, 60’s and beyond – are using Steroids to increase their Testosterone Levels
  • As a lifetime Drug Free Lifter, I can tell you that once a man starts ‘juicing’ he can make very very quick results in terms of muscle mass and strength gains
  • Everyone ‘using’ tells you there aren’t any side-effects, until the effects get really bad. These side-effects include… hair loss, severe acne (boils), mood swings, testicular atrophy, growth of ugly ‘Man Boobs’, and sometimes a total loss of sex-drive and weak erections once they ‘come off’ the steroids (Note: libido usually goes through the roof when guys use testosterone. But, once they stop using – because they can no longer hack the side-effects – their bodies have often forgotten how to naturally produce testosterone, leaving them worse off than they were before)

As you can probably tell, I’m not at all in favor of steroids. Sure, it’s your body, and you can do what you want with it.

But, I’ve seen enough guys screw themselves up (including one guy who ended up with Heart issues at 31, and another who ended up needing a Kidney transplant in his early 40’s) to be able to put my hand on heart and say:

It ain’t a good idea!

All of which leads us to the next question:

“What’s the Alternative Way to Increase Your Testosterone Levels, Naturally, so You Don’t Have to Inject?”

Here are 10 proven Suggestions…

(Hint: the more of them that you incorporate into your lifestyle, the higher your Testosterone Levels should be!)…

#1: Optimize Your Vitamin D Levels

Vitamin D is closely linked to Testosterone. Quite simply, science has proven that if your Vitamin D Levels are low, your Testosterone is likely to be as well.

The best way to ensure you have healthy Vitamin D levels is to get out in the sun daily, for 15-30 minutes. With as much of your bare, naked skin exposed as possible.

Avoid burning, by covering up (with a hat and a t-shirt) once you have had enough, and this way the sun will NOT do you harm. In fact, it’ll do you a great deal of good (and boost your T-Levels).

Of course, if you cannot get out in the sun, or live somewhere where there just isn’t very much sunshine, it would be a good idea to supplement with Vitamin D.

#2: Optimize Your Zinc Levels

Zinc is another nutrient closely linked to your Testosterone Levels.

For many men, simply ensuring they get adequate Zinc in their systems each day, can be the difference between lower and higher Testosterone Levels.

The #1 food for Zinc is Oysters, but not many men want to eat those daily (or at all).

A better option is Rock Hard Formula. Because Rock Hard contains Polyrachis Ant – a Superherb extremely high in naturally occurring Zinc.

Unfortunately, most supplemental Zinc is NOT well absorbed by the body – hence my recommendation that you get Zinc from real foods like Oysters, or a superherb blend like Rock Hard Formula.

#3: Consume a Variety of Healthy Fats

Here’s a great reason to avoid LOW FAT diets… to build Testosterone, your body needs Healthy Fats!

I’m not talking about poisonous Trans Fats – like you get in Junk Food like Donuts, Cake or Ice Cream.

I’m talking about the kind of fats you get in foods like:

  • Grass Fed Organic Meats
  • Wild Oily Fish (like Salmon)
  • Avocados
  • Nuts and Seeds
  • Nut and Seed Oils (Olive Oil, Almond Oil, Sesame Oil etc)
  • Coconut Oil
  • Eggs

And so on.

Eat a variety of those kinds of foods each day, if you want to ensure you have enough healthy fats in your diet to build adequate Testosterone Levels.

#4: Expose Yourself to Cold Water

Most days, after my Strength Training sessions, I get in the shower and alternate between HOT and COLD water, always ending with COLD.

I usually do the hot water from anywhere from 1-3 minutes. And the cold water for 30-90 seconds. In total, I usually do 4-6 sets.

Why do I do this?

Well, first of all – the hot water is RELAXING, and the cold water is INVIGORATING. It actually feels amazing to build up your cold water tolerance.

It makes you feel ALIVE.

But, there are more benefits than just that:

  • Cold Water boosts Testosterone
  • Helps recovery from exercise
  • Improves Fertility
  • Increases Energy & Well-Being
  • Supports the Immune System
  • Relieves depression
  • Helps the Skin and Hair stay healthy

I could go on. But you get the idea.

Cold water is a very valuable tool.

Of course, if you try to go too cold at first, it feels HORRIBLE. But, if you build up your tolerance slowly, day by day, you get to a point where VERY COLD water feels GREAT.

And listen. This has a history of use going back to Spartan times. And, those guys were double-hard bastards! So, if it was good enough for them…

#5: Get 7-8 Hours of Uninterrupted Sleep Each Night

It’s been well documented scientifically that good sleep has a positive effect on your testosterone levels.

So, do all that you can to get, not only 7-8 yours IN BED each night – but, actually… 7-8 hours of deep, blissful, uninterrupted sleep.

To do this, I recommend a great mattress, a cool bedroom (not hot), blackout blinds to make the room pitch black, and to finish eating at least 3 hours before you hit the sack.

Giving your wife a good hard fucking, and plastering her with a huge load beforehand, usually helps you sleep too.

#6: Engage in Heavy Strength Training at Least Twice a Week

Going to the gym at least twice a week, and lifting HEAVY weights, might just be the very best thing you can do to raise your testosterone levels.

Now. When I say heavy, I mean HEAVY.

So, looking in the mirror, doing curls with 5lbs pink dumbbells doesn’t count.

Squats, Deadlifts, Overhead Pressing, Pull Ups, Bench Presses, Rows, Kettlebell Swings, the Olympic Lifts, dragging a heavy Sled, pushing a heavy Prowler. Done for sets of 1-5 reps. That’s HEAVY strength training.

And that’s what’ll increase your Testosterone Levels.

It’ll also help you to build muscle, provided you eat enough calories.

#7: Spend Time with Women You Find Attractive

Here’s an interesting FACT:

When you spend time interacting with HOT WOMEN, your Testosterone goes UP!

This could be your girlfriend, fiancee or wife.

Or, it could simply be talking for a few minutes to the smoking hot babe at the local gas station or coffee shop.

Whatever.

The bottom line is… talking to HOT women boosts your Testosterone.
If you need help talking to hot women – try THIS.

#8: Improve Your Posture

Here’s another interesting/bizarre FACT:

Improving your posture improves your Testosterone Levels!

So, the more time you spend stood or sat up TALL, with your chest out, belly in and shoulders back, the higher your Testosterone Levels will be (all other things being equal).
My favorite exercise for improving your Testosterone Levels is called: Rocking. Here’s a short video from my friends at Original Strength, that shows how it’s done:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CgJKPAyw5Q

I recommend doing at least 10 reps a day. Though, if you really want to see FAST results in your Postural improvement, and Testosterone Levels, try doing 30-50 reps a day.

You can even sneak some reps in like I do, at the gym. In-between sets of squats and deadlifts, I’ll do 5-10 reps Rocking, to ‘reset’ my posture.

#9: Limit Your Consumption of Alcohol, Soy, Refined Sugar & Any Liquid in Plastic Bottles

These are some of the eating and drinking habits that are crippling men’s testosterone levels here in the west.

Alcohol can have a very negative effect on your Testosterone Levels, if you abuse it.

Soy has been proven to LOWER Testosterone Levels.

And, Refined Sugar has a terrible effect on your Testosterone, every time you eat it! I’m not suggesting you give up natural sugar like Fruit and Raw Honey, but rather, refined sugars like those found in:

  • White bread, pasta, pizza, bagels, donuts, pastries and so on
  • Chocolate, Cake, Ice Cream, Candy etc
  • Soda
  • Cheap ‘Sports Drinks’, Low Quality Protein/Workout Shakes

And, well, you see what I’m saying.

The less of those sugars you eat, the better.

Finally in this section, a quick note on plastics

Plastic leaches into whatever is inside it. Particularly when it’s liquid – like bottled water. The bad news is – this plastic causes your Estrogen (female hormone) levels to RISE, and your Testosterone to FALL.

So you’d be wise to avoid drinking from plastic whenever possible.

#10: Take Rock Hard Formula daily

Rock Hard Formula is a unique blend of 9 safe, natural Ancient Eastern Superherbs, designed to boost your Testosterone Levels. Giving you higher libido, better performance in bed, rock-solid confidence, increased energy and more.
