Foods that Boost Testosterone – and Foods that Destroy It!

Here Are 5 of The Best Foods to Boost Your Testosterone Levels and 5 Foods that Ruin Your T-Levels…

By Elliot Newman

Testosterone is responsible for many aspects of your physical and mental health and well-being.

For example, healthy testosterone levels can help you to experience:

  • Reliable sexual performance
  • Strong bones
  • Healthy body-weight (ie. not overweight)
  • Confidence
  • Energy

And a whole lot more.

Now. Given that Testosterone Levels start to decline at 29 or 30 years of age, and that decline is happening faster than ever (because of a huge variety of very negative Lifestyle and Environmental Factors) I think it’d be a good idea to eat some foods that boost your Testosterone, right?

Glad you agree 😉

Now, let’s check them out…

5 Natural, Great Tasting Foods that Boost Testosterone…

#1: Eggs

I was recently recording a podcast with my friend – Jason Julius – and he was talking about the power of EGGS when it comes to your Testosterone Levels.

He said that if you eat a few eggs in the evening, you’re likely to wake up with stonking HARD ‘Morning Wood’ the next day.

I tried this – eating a 3 egg omelette, with a big leafy green salad for dinner – and sure enough, the next day I woke up Rock-Hard.

Apparently it’s the healthy fats in the egg yolk, and the good cholesterol, that make eggs such a powerful food when it comes to boosting your Testosterone Levels.

#2: Wild Fatty Fish

The best example here is Wild Alaskan Salmon. Though, Wild Tuna is a good option too.

The healthy omega 3 fats found in these fish are extremely beneficial to your Testosterone Levels.

#3: Pomegranate

According to Dr Joseph Mercola, Pomegranate can have an extremely positive effect on your Testosterone Levels, quoting a Scientific Study that shows that a glass of this tasty juice each day can boost Testosterone by 16-30%…

As well as improving mood, sex-drive, confidence and more.

#4: Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

You may already know that high quality Olive Oil is a staple part of the Mediterranean Diet. And that Mediterranean’s are some of the longest lived people in the Western World.

However, what I find really interesting is that not only is Olive Oil good for the things you usually hear about – like your Skin, Heart Health and so on – it can also have a remarkably good effect on your T-Levels

Boosting them by as much as 19% in just 3 weeks.

The great thing is…

Including Olive Oil is your diet is EASY. Drizzle is over steamed veggies. Use it as the base for a tasty salad dressing. Or even neck a spoonful each day.

The important thing is to buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil, in a dark glass bottle (avoid clear glass, or plastic bottles, because the oil is likely to be rancid).

#5: Broccoli, Cauliflower and other Cruciferous Vegetables

This group of veggies actually lowers your Estrogen Levels.

The important thing is…

When Estrogen (the Female Hormone) goes DOWN, Testosterone (the Male Hormone) goes UP.

With a bit of thought and imagination, it’s not difficult to incorporate some, or all, of those 5 natural testosterone boosting foods into your diet. What’s equally important is to avoid the following:

5 Foods that Destroy Your Testosterone Levels…

#1: Refined Sugar

Study after study after study has shown that when you eat Refined Sugar, your Testosterone Levels DECREASE.

When I say Refined Sugar, I’m not talking about the naturally occuring, and healthy sugars, found in Fruit or Raw Honey.

I’m talking about things like White Sugar, and High Fructose Corn Syrup, that are found in nearly all processed junk foods.

So, if you want higher testosterone levels, and you’d like to avoid Refined Sugar because it can lower your T-Levels – avoiding processed foods would be a great step in the right direction!

#2: Soy

Soy is marketed as a Health Food. But I don’t believe it’s anything of the sort. And, I think it’s especially bad for MEN.

Because…

Soy lowers Testosterone.

Now. Here’s the thing…

Even if you don’t drink a Carton of Soy Milk a day. And, even if you don’t eat Tofu with Stir Fried Veggies every night..

You might still be eating A LOT of Soy!

How so?

Because Soy is in most processed foods. So, if you want to avoid ‘accidentally’ consuming this most feminizing of foods – again, the simplest way to do it is to:

STOP eating PROCESSED foods. And eat naturally instead.

#3: Excessive Alcohol Consumption

The odd wine or beer is ok, I guess.

But, it’s no secret that excessive alcohol consumption negatively affects your Testosterone Levels. And, is a source of pretty empty calories (explaining why many alcoholics end up with a big belly, even though they’re not always ‘big eaters’).

Question is:

“How much is too much?”

Well, I’d say that knocking back an entire bottle of wine, 6 beers, or half a bottle of Vodka in one go is over the top.

As is drinking daily.

But, a glass of wine on a Friday night, when you got out for dinner… or a beer or two when you watch ‘the game’ is probably ok. Not optimal, but probably ok.

#4: Processed Meats

Grass Fed Organic Meats can have a powerful and positive effect on your Testosterone Levels.

But, cheap processed meats are the worst. Not just for your Testosterone Levels, but for your entire overall health.

If you want to both increase your Testosterone – and improve your overall health – my number 1 suggestion is this:

Stop eating processed meats. And switch to Organic, Grass Fed instead.

Unless of course, you enjoy consuming something highly estrogenic, and ingesting ‘2nd-hand antibiotics’ is your idea of fun!

#5: Trans Fats

Trans Fats are found in many processed foods. And they can really hurt your T-Levels. As explained in this article.

As is often the case, the solution is simple: STOP eating PROCESSED foods. And, if you use oil to cook, only use Coconut Oil. Other oils – like Olive Oil – should be added to food cold.

Follow those simple tips and you can easily avoid Trans Fats in your Diet.

And by the way… the combination of Refined Sugar and Trans Fats is lethal. It’s found in so many processed foods, gives you A TON of empty calories, and is a fast-track to being overweight and obese.

And, you know what obesity leads to, right?

Diabetes, Heart Disease and so on.
