It’s true… in Ancient Times, many successful cultures (including the Romans and Spartans), used to Worship Strength.

To them, if you were not STRONG, you were not a MAN.

Today, times have changed. At least here in the West.

Today, sadly, men are mostly WEAK. They are lacking STRENGTH. In fact, most men are lacking any degree of physical capability whatsoever!

Most men are, I think it’s fair to say:

Physically PATHETIC.

In this blog post, I want to make a case for ‘Strength.’

I want to show you why strength is not just for ‘Meatheads.’

I want to show you why strength is important for Alpha Males.

And, of course – I want to talk to you a little about how to build strength.

(Note: I’ve been strength training for nearly 20 years. I competed in the sport of Powerlifting for 5 years. My highest Deadlift was 572lbs. And I’ve co-authored/ghost-written best selling books on the subject. So, I have some ‘past results’ and ‘credentials’ when it comes to the topic of STRENGTH 😉

Let’s get into it…

“Why Strength is Not Just for Meatheads”

“Tremendous Strength can be Built with Bodyweight Exercises”

I have no time for bodybuilding.

Sure, it doesn’t do me any harm.

But, I’ve seen what it does to the people who participate in that sport. And, even to regular guys in the gym whose sole focus is on ‘getting big.’

They become VAIN.

They become INSECURE.

They see themselves as SMALLER than they really are (in much the same way as an Anorexic person sees themselves as fat!)

They become slaves to the mirror.

They cannot live a normal life. Because they must eat at set times, weigh every ounce of food, and count every calorie.

And, come contest day?

Well, on contest day they shave all their body hair, apply way too much fake tan, and then slip into a skimpy thong. What follows is posing on stage, while other men judge them on their physical appearance.

Yup, bodybuilding is WEIRD.

More like some kind of homo-erotic freak show than a sport!

To be clear…

When I talk about STRENGTH – it has nothing to do with bodybuilding (and nothing to do with the mindless nonsense most people in most gyms are doing either). Besides, many bodybuilders are much weaker than you’d think (because they don’t really care about STRENGTH. Only about how they look).

When I talk about Strength – I am actually talking about getting strong at moving barbells, kettle bells, dumbbells and your body weight.

Do this consistently, a few times a week, progressively adding weight where you can, and you WILL look damn good (providing you eat at least reasonably well) – without ever worrying about HOW you look!

Seriously…

I look pretty good NAKED.

Why?

Because I lift heavy, and eat well.

And I do so several times a week.

It is as simple as that.

What most people think of as ‘strength’ – that meathead look… with huge muscles, angry facial expressions to try and cover the insecurity, and tell tale signs of steroid use…

Nah. That’s NOT what I’m into.

And I’d never recommend it to you.

But being STRONG – simply by doing proper, old school strength training, and eating well…

Well, that’s something every man should do.

Why?

Because strength makes your life better and easier!

For instance:

  • When you are strong (and somewhat muscular and lean, as a result of your strength training) – you are more attractive to women. Period.
  • When you are strong, everyday tasks seem easier (because you have to exert less effort to perform them)
  • When you are strong, any other physical attribute you desire is easier to attain – including power, speed, muscle, and even endurance. (“YES” – even endurance can be improved by getting STRONGER – if you’re interested to know how, ask me to explain this point further, in the comments section at the end of the blog!)
  • When you are strong – and you look it! – you are less likely to be the victim of violent crime (and you are more likely to be able to beat anyone who foolishly decides to fuck with you)
  • When you are strong, you are more masculine (because we all know, as men, if we’re being honest with ourselves – MEN are supposed to be STRONG! We are not supposed to be weak, flaccid, fragile ‘Couch Potatoes’ – even though that is what we have become, on the whole, as a society)
  • When you are strong, other men RESPECT YOU

I could go on.

But, you get the idea…

There are many benefits to being STRONG.

And strength is definitely not just for meatheads.

Why Is Strength Important for an Alpha Male?

“Being Strong makes You More Attractive to Women”

You walk into a room, and you carry your strength correctly. With great posture, and effortless confidence.

What happens?

Every woman feels a twitch between her legs. He panties get a little moist. Her thoughts turn ‘naughty.’

Why?

Because you look like a King among Men – and you just sub-consciously triggered her ‘Mating Instincts.’ Mating Instincts that trigger thoughts in her conscious mind such as:

“Oh my God. Who the heck is he?”

“How can I get his attention?”

“I’d love to take him home”

I want that man’s babies and I don’t even know his name!!!”

And the men?

Well, the men realise you are a ‘cut above’ the average man – physically at least. And, for that reason – they respect you.

Sure, a percent instantly HATE you too – but that hatred comes from pure resentment! The ‘haters’ secretly want to be you.

So…

If you want Women to want you. And, if you want the respect of other men – STRENGTH pays.

Another Example:

“Fat. Drunk. Bum. The Opposite of STRONG”

You’re out in a Bar.A friend of yours is a great guy, but cannot handle his drink.

Once he’s had a few, he thinks he’s a ‘Tough Guy’ and starts looking for trouble.

Sure enough, a few minutes later he’s face-to-face, squaring off with another drunk. The night is about to get UGLY.

What do you do?

You ‘switch on.’

You take a deep breath.

You get between the 2 guys.

You tell your friend to go get some water and have a quiet word with himself.

You tell the other guy that:

“We’re all here for a good time. There’s no need for things to get nasty or violent”

He listens.

And, he listens because you said what you said in such a way that you let him know you’d CRUSH HIM – if he decided to carry on the nonsense.

And yet, you didn’t have to threaten him.

He simply respected you.

He respected your posture. He respected your strength. He respected your honesty.

He understood his place, and his place was to LISTEN to you, and do as he was told. Because he was just a DRUNK BUM! Yet you were a MAN…

Strong, purposeful, calm under pressure.

You getting this?

Strength helps an Alpha Male in every way! It has no downsides.

One More Scenario to Consider…

“All The Great Superheros are Strong – including Superman, Batman, and Hulk”

(I could give you a hundred scenarios or more – but then this’d be a BOOK, not a blog post ;)…

You’re trying to get promoted at work.

You’re up against it.

At least 25 other men are applying for the job you want.

But, look at them…

Some are FAT.

Some are SKINNY.

Some are ‘Skinny-Fat.’

Some ‘workout’ – but have no clue how to do properly… so they have that ugly Neanderthal look (with their heads forwards, chest tightened and caved in, back muscles stretched too far).

All of these guys have bad posture.

And, because of those facts – even the ones who spent 4 figure sums on their suits… well, they still look like CRAP!

Because, as the old saying goes:

“You can polish a turd. But, it is still a turd”

How about you Stud?

You’re STRONG.

You have impeccable posture.

Your clothes look happy on you. And you feel happy in them!

You walk into the interview room with CONFIDENCE – as opposed to FEAR and trepidation (like the other losers).

You ACE the interview.

Because your interviewers can see a REAL MAN in front of them. A strong man. A man who is living as a man should:

With STRENGTH.

How to Build Strength using a Simple, Proven System…

“Squats Help to Make Men – and Women! – Strong and Attractive from Head-to-Toe!”

Please understand that I could talk for days on the subject of ‘How to Build Strength.’ It is not a small topic.

But, right now, instead talking for DAYS about strength…

…I’ll show you a fool-proof way to get strong instead! 🙂

It’s called:

The 5 x 5 Method.

The simplest way to use the 5 x 5 Method to build strength (and some muscle), is this:

  • Pick 4 Total Body Exercises (a Squat, a Hinge, a Press and a Pull)
  • Train 3 non-consecutive days a week, alternating ‘Day 1’ and ‘Day 2’ (so if you train Mon/Wed-Fri, you do Day 1/Day 2/Day 1 in week 1. Then, in week 2, you do Day 2/Day 1/Day 2, and so on
  • On Day 1, do your Squats and Pulls
  • On Day 2, do your Hinge Exercise and your Presses
  • Pick a moderate starting weight, something you could probably get 10 reps with if you had too
  • Use perfect form (because this makes you stronger, and minimizes injury-risk)
  • Avoid failure (always ‘leave 1 perfect rep in the tank’)

Here’s how it might look:

Day 1:

Front Squats

Chin Ups

Day 2:

Kettlebell Swings

Bench Presses

That’s it.

4 simple exercises that train your whole body.

One simple set and rep scheme – 5 x 5 – that’s been making people strong, and adding muscle to their frames, for decades.

All you have to do is stick to the program long enough to see great gains.

And, in case your wondering:

At the end of your workout, you may do 1-2 smaller exercises. These could include ab work, grip work, neck work, and a couple of sets of your Biceps if you insist!

Now go get STRONG.
