Posture is a very big deal.

If you have great posture – you’ll improve your Health, Performance and Status (for reasons I’ll explain in just a minute).

On the contrary. If you have less than great posture – like many men do – you’ll negatively affect the things which matter most… Health, Performance and Status.

These days, it’s rare to see a man with truly great posture…

Too much SITTING in our society is to blame. Combined with people just not giving it a second’s thought!

When you sit down too much:

  • Your head goes forwards. Giving you a weak, ‘Chicken-Head’ posture
  • Your chest caves in
  • Your shoulders round forwards
  • Your belly sticks out
  • Your butt becomes FLAT
  • You lose an inch or two in height!

And, well… you get the idea

Sitting = Bad Posture

And:

Bad Posture = A Loss of Health, Performance and Status!

Right now, let’s take a look at 10 ways posture affects your Health, Performance and Status. And, then I’ll give you some simple strategies that you can use to IMPROVE your posture.

Here goes:

10 Important Ways Your Posture Affects Your Health, Performance and Status:

#1: Good Posture Improves The Health of Your Joints

“Better Posture = Less Joint Pain”

Joint PAIN – and Joint INJURY – are very common. And, not just among athletes.

For instance, studies show that something like 80%-90% of American Adults will experience serious LOWER BACK PAIN at least once in their lives.

That’s nearly everybody!

And, a huge proportion of people also experience SHOULDER pain or injury.

The knees aren’t too far behind either. With many people getting to the point where even simple things like WALKING UP STAIRS, becomes painful!

Urgh.

I couldn’t imagine living like that.

Nobody wants PAIN. It’s miserable.

And, here’s the thing…

A lot of Joint Pain and Injury is, at least in part, caused by BAD POSTURE.

So, one huge benefit of improving your posture is that you’ll have healthier, more resilient, and less injury-prone joints!

#2: Good Posture Improves The Health of Your Internal Organs!

Here’s an idea that’s IGNORED by almost everyone. Even Doctor’s. And, even people who say they’re into ‘alternative health’ too…

The FACT that your posture will effect the health of your Internal Organs!

Now, I’m not an expert on this specifically, but let’s just use some good old freakin’ common sense…

If you have LOUSY posture…

If you have the ‘chicken-head’ thing going on…

If you have a pigeon chest, and shoulders that are all rounded forward…

If your belly sticks out…

And your ass is FLAT and ‘tucked under’…

Do you think that all that PHYSICAL, STRUCTURAL DYSFUNCTION going on in your body might also negatively effect the health and performance of your internal organs?

The only sane answer to that question, is:

“YES!”

So, if you want your internal organs to be optimally healthy (and you really should want that) – then it’s essential that you have GOOD posture!

Old people. Women. Children.

The frail, small and weak.

Most people who commit violent attacks, on innocent people, are complete and utter COWARDS. So they pick on ‘easy targets.’ People who seem defenseless.

Now, your posture says A LOT to a wannabe attacker, about whether or not to mess with you. And, whether or not to mess with you, and whoever else you may be with! (I.e. your kids, your woman, your parents etc.).

Think about it…

If you walk round with your head down, looking at the floor. With your hands in your pockets. With your shoulders forwards. With your belly stuck out…

You look WEAK.

You look like a Beta Male.

You are INCREASING your chances of being the victim of mindless violence.

In contrast…

When you stand tall. When your head is positioned directly over your shoulders. When your chest is naturally out and your shoulders back. When your belly is flat…

Now you look like a MAN.

You look like an Alpha.

And, you’ll make the kind of mindless SCUM who go round attacking people, think twice before fucking with you!

#6: Good Posture Makes You More Positive, Motivated and Confident

Indulge me, and try a little experiment:

First, stand up, put your hands in your pockets, stick your belly out, and round your shoulders forwards. Now look down at the floor.

Notice how positive you feel.

Notice how motivated you feel.

Notice how confident you feel.

“NOT VERY” is probably your reaction to ALL of those things!

Next, try this:

Stand up tall.

Look straight ahead.

Have your arms by your side.

Stick your chest out.

Pull your shoulders back.

Make your belly flat.

“What’s stopping up breathing correctly – with your mouth shut, deeply, into your belly?”

Well, bad posture can really screw up your breathing patterns.

So, that’s yet another benefit of having great posture – you’ll have more ENERGY, and you’ll have more cardiovascular fitness (without actually having to do any boring ‘cardio’ 🙂

Thankfully, I could count the number of headaches I’ve had in my entire life, on the fingers of one hand!

However, I’m well aware that many people suffer from headaches on a regular basis.

One particular kind of headache, called ‘Tension Headaches,’ can be caused by lousy posture. Because dysfunctions in the upper back, shoulders, and neck, cause the head to be pulled in ways it doesn’t want to be pulled…

The result being:

Tension Headaches.

So – fix your posture, and fewer headaches are a likely outcome.

#10: Good Posture Helps You Become a Successful Alpha Male

Having read the other 9 points – this 10th point is now painfully obvious, right?

To be a Successful Alpha Male – having great posture is a ‘must.’

Question is:

How can you IMPROVE your posture?

Here Are 3 Simple Ways to Improve Your Posture, Starting Today…

#1: Do Some Head Nods…

Head Nods are a simple exercise.

All babies do them, when they are learning to control their heads.

Head nods will loosen up your neck and upper back. They improve your balance and co-ordination too. And, they’ll definitely improve your posture (especially if you have that ‘head forwards’ posture many people have today).

Here’s what you do:

  • Assume a quadruped position (get on your hands and knees on the floor. Knees directly under your hips. Wrists directly under your shoulders)
  • Look down with your eyes, and let your head follow. Look down as much as you can, without moving into pain! Over time, your range of motion will increase
  • Look up with your eyes, and let your head follow. Look up as much as you can, without moving into pain! Over time, your range of motion will increase

Do at least 10 reps, once a day.

Ideally, do something like 10 reps, 3 times a day.

It’ll take you seconds. That’s all.

Yet, done daily, day-in-day-out, the results will be MASSIVE over time.

#2: Become More Conscious of The Way You Sit…

“Sitting Like This Is Asking for Trouble…”

Sitting less is great.

But, sometimes you gotta sit. So, you might as well pay attention to HOW you sit, right?

Otherwise sitting will likely SCREW UP your posture sooner or later.

So, when you sit in a chair:

  • Push your backside all the way back in the chair
  • Sit up ‘tall’
  • Ensure your head is over your shoulders (as opposed to protruding forwards)
  • If you are working on a computer, set it up so that it’s at eye level (if you constantly look DOWN at the screen, you’re encouraging the ‘chicken-head/head-forwards’ posture!)

#3: Become More Conscious of The Way You Sleep…

Hopefully you’re going to sleep for 7-8 hours a night.

Yet, here’s the thing…

If you sleep in a weird way, that can be 7-8 yours of ‘doing bad things to your posture,’ every single night.

So, here are some pointers:

  • Avoid sleeping on your front. Because it is BAD for your LOWER BACK (and, as I mentioned earlier – 80-90% of American Adults will experience lower back pain or injury in their lives)
  • If you sleep on your side, use a pillow to ensure that your head is in correct alignment (meaning: too thick or thin a pillow is not optimal. Try find a pillow that’s ‘just right’ – one that puts your head in the same position it would be if you were standing up with good posture)
  • If you sleep on your side, you may want to put a thin pillow between your legs
  • If you sleep on your back, and it causes you lower back discomfort, try putting a thin pillow under the back of your knees)

Ultimately, you know the old saying:

“Practice makes Perfect”

Well, I’ve got news for you my friend:

That saying is BULLSHIT.

You see, the truth is:

“Practice makes PERMANENT”

So, if you spend as much time as possible in ‘good posture’ – that’s how you’ll end up. With good posture.

However, if you spend a lot of time in bad posture – that’s how you’ll end up.

It’s a choice.

Choose wisely.
