Here’s How Nutrition Affects Your Testosterone Levels – Including What to Eat, What to Avoid, and More…
By Adam Armstrong
Note: if you missed Part 1 or Part 2 of this series on How to get Maximum Results from Rock Hard Formula – you can read them by clicking the links below:
Part 1: How Sleep and Stress Affect Your Testosterone Levels
Part 2: The Effects of Sitting, Movement, Posture & Exercise on your Testosterone Levels
In this, part 3, we’re going to take a look at how NUTRITION – what you eat and drink – affects your Testosterone Levels. And, what you should eat and drink in order to get Maximum Results from Rock Hard Formula.
Before we jump in and discuss ‘food & drink’ in detail, I’d like to talk to you about:
The Rule of 90%…

The Rule of 90% simply means that you should aim to eat well at least 90% of the time.
If you eat 3 meals a day, that’s 21 meals a week.
Applying the rule of 90% means you should eat 19 healthy meals a week, and allow yourself a little leeway on a couple meals a week.
Do this, and you’ll be eating better than 99% of people (many of whom never actually eat ANYTHING that’s healthy whatsoever!)
Now I must point out that ideally, you’d eat well 100% of the time. After all, you wouldn’t fill your car up with the correct fuel 90% of the time, would you? No. You’d fill your car up with the correct fuel 100% of the time, otherwise it’d likely break.
Well, I’d love to tell everyone to eat well 100% of the time – and, if you choose to, that’s GREAT.
But, The Rule of 90% is a good compromise, if you want to enjoy the occasional beer while watching sports, indulge in some Popcorn at the cinema, or cool down with an ice cream on a warm summer’s day.
Just make sure you’re honest with yourself about what 90% really is.
For instance, if you ‘pig out’ every Friday night, and eat a week’s worth of calories in one evening, and those calories are made up of junk foods like pizza, beer and ice cream, well… then you’re not really sticking to the 90% rule.
My advice?
Try it for 30 days – or better still… for 90 days.
Eat ‘clean’ 90% of the time, and notice how things like your energy, sex-drive, performance in bed, and general well-being improve.
And, if you genuinely already eat clean 90% of the time, try going 100% ‘clean’ for 30, 60 or 90 days. Do that and you’ll never look back. Because you’ll cultivate a level of health, vitality and overall well-being so high, you’ll never want to let it go!
Of course, obeying The 90% Rule (or 100% if you’re a real STUD) and also taking your 2 teaspoons of Rock Hard Formula each day, is where the Magic really happens…
Do that and your Testosterone and Circulation will greatly improve. And your day-to-day stress will go down…
Giving you much more manly, Alpha Male performance inside and outside of the bedroom.
Question:
“What Should You Eat and Drink for Optimal Health and Sexual Performance?”

Here’s the key point I want you to understand…
If you take your 2 tsp of Rock Hard Formula each day, that’s GREAT.
However, if you then drink 12 beers a night, or eat Burger, Fries and a Shake for lunch and dinner, or pig out on Chocolate and Candy every afternoon, or ‘self-harm’ with any other bad food and drink choices on a regular basis (or, every time you eat, as many guys do!)…
…then, you can’t really expect Rock Hard Formula to change your life.
Sure, it’ll still be healthy for you, but, it’s kinda like this…
Imagine there’s a guy who is 100lbs overweight. He’s literally KILLING himself with poisonous food… donuts, pastries, processed meats, burgers, chips, ice cream, beer… he’s doing all that. Every day. And, never a vegetable or fruit in sight.
Then he starts going for a 10 minute walk every day.
Well, sure, going for a 10 minute walk every day is great! But, is a 10 minute walk going to solve all this guy’s problems? Is a 10 minute walk going to help him lose 100lbs of ugly body-fat, despite the fact he’s still eating nothing but junk?
Heck no!
Of course it’s not.
For a guy 100lbs overweight, who basically eats like a human dustbin, going for a 10 minute walk each day is a “GOOD START”. But nothing more. Might sound harsh, but it’s the truth (and, you do want the truth from me, right?)
In reality, our friend who is 100lbs overweight needs to clean up his entire lifestyle if he wants to regain his health and vitality, and lose weight.
And…
It’s the same with Rock Hard Formula.
If you’re a fit young 30-something, who’s basically in very good health, and you’re just looking for ‘an edge’ in the bedroom – they “YES”, absolutely, just taking 2 tsp of Rock Hard Formula each day might very well take your Performance from ‘pretty decent’ to ‘GREAT’!
However, if you’re in your 50’s, or 60’s, and you’ve been doing many things, for YEARS, that are UNHEALTHY, you might have to do more than just take Rock Hard in order to get results. And, to get Maximum Results, obviously you’re going to have to do lots of good things!
One thing you need to do is eat right. You need to dial-in your nutrition.
Here Are The 7 Food Groups I Recommend You Choose From on a Daily Basis:

Fruits and Vegetables – the more the merrier! Eat them, juice them, put them in smoothies. Eat a wide variety. Go organic whenever you can (and, if you can’t it should be buy organic, wash your fruits and veggies in Water and Apple Cider Vinegar before you consume them). The Government recommendation of 5 portions a day seems meager to me… I’d shoot for 10-15 (to get in 10-15, freshly made juices, and smoothies, are your best friend)
Highest Quality Animal Produce – for instance: Grass-Fed Organic Beef, Wild Alaskan Salmon, Free Range Organic Chicken. If you eat cheap meat, you will ingest a ton of ‘second hand’ antibiotics, steroids and even growth hormone. So, I’m not anti-animal food, but I am anti-CHEAP-animal food. The absolute worst being the stuff they serve you at fast-food chains, and cheap processed lunch meats.
Raw, Organic Dairy and Free Range Organic Eggs – I think dairy is a great food, if you tolerate it. But, you want the Raw, Organic stuff. This’ll ensure you get the most nutritional bang-for-your-buck when you eat dairy – while avoiding the same pitfalls cheap meat brings with it… antibiotics, growth hormone, steroids and so on.
Healthy Fats – Fat is NOT the enemy. In fact, you need Healthy Fats to ensure optimal testosterone levels. Good choices includes Eggs, Steak, Salmon, Nuts and Seeds, Nut and Seed Oils, Avocado, Olives and Coconut Oil. The great thing is… healthy fats actually taste very good, so adding them to your diet is no hardship. Quick tip: when buying Oil – such as Olive Oil – look for the bottle to be DARK GLASS, and to say something along the lines of ‘cold processed’ or ‘extracted only by mechanical means’ (this’ll ensure the oil is top quality, and not rancid)
Healthy Carbohydrates – For every person who thinks FAT is the ENEMY, there’s another who’ll tell you the same about ‘Carbs’! Honestly, we need both. Your Brain runs on Glucose (a Carb) for God Sake. So going too ‘Low Carb’ ain’t good (and isn’t good for your Testosterone). The healthiest carb choices would be… root vegetables (like carrots, yams, potatoes, and so on), healthy grains such as Rice, Quinoa, Millet etc, and even healthy sweeteners like Raw Honey and Organic Maple Syrup
Herbs, Spices, and Healthy Sweeteners – you have tons of choice here. And, getting to know these ingredients can take boring, bland food and turn it into something delicious! Choices include basil, mint, chilli, raw honey and dozens more.
Superfoods – Superfoods such as Maca, Barley Grass Powder and Lucuma are power-packed foods that contain more nutrition than the regular foods you buy in the supermarket. Often you only need a teaspoon or two a day, of a Superfood, to reap massive rewards. For instance, a teaspoon of 10:1 Maca Extract each day can do CRAZY things for your libido and performance in bed. Try taking that, as well as Rock Hard Formula, and see what happens. You can thank me later! 😉
Superherbs – Here you’ll find the very highest level of nutrition, Rock Hard Formula being great example. Superherbs are best consumed in the Traditional Eastern way, as FORMULAS, not individually. Because a well formulated blend will always be more powerful than one superherb on it’s own. Of course, Rock Hard is a great example of such a formula, so be sure to take your 2 teaspoons a day!
So, as well as getting 2 teaspoons of Rock Hard into your system each day, you’d also be wise to eat from the above food groups at least 90% of the time.
Do that, and GREAT RESULTS will follow.
Here’s a sample recipe that’ll help you build overall health, energy, vitality, testosterone and performance in bed:
A Delicious Smoothie for Boosting Your T-Levels…
(perfect for when you don’t have time to prepare a meal, or before/after a workout):

- 400ml Almond Milk (or Coconut Water)
- 1 scoop Protein Powder (for protein)
- 2 teaspoons Rock Hard Formula
- 1 tsp Maca Extract (works great alongside Rock Hard, for even greater testosterone, libido and performance boosting results)
- 2-3 tsp Almond Butter (to provide healthy fats)
- 1-2 tsp Raw Honey (provides healthy carbohydrates, lots of vitamins, minerals and enzymes, and a deliciously sweet taste)
- ⅓ tsp Himalayan Salt
Whizz in a blender until smooth, drink and enjoy!
Now that you know what to eat, and have a quality smoothie recipe to get you started, let’s discuss some:
Foods to Avoid…

The short answer to the question of WHAT to avoid if you want to maximize your Testosterone Levels, Health, Energy, Confidence, Libido and Performance in Bed is simple:
Anything overly processed!
That’s it.
Just eat a natural, organic diet – choosing from the 7 healthy food groups I showed you earlier in this blog post, and you’ll be firing on all cylinders (inside and outside of the bedroom).
However, since so many things are processed these days, I want to show you some of the ‘worst offenders’. The foods that can DESTROY your Testosterone Levels in double-quick time…
Testosterone Destroyer #1: Refined Sugar
It’s well documented that whenever you eat refined sugar, your Testosterone Levels DROP. And so does your sex-drive!
Now, consider the fact that, as a society, most people are cramming refined sugar down their cake holes at every meal (and when snacking between meals) and it’s not difficult to see why we have an epidemic of Low Testosterone!
If you’re unsure what REFINED sugar is, stick to these guidelines:
Say “YES” to: Fruit, Raw Honey, Organic Maple Syrup, Root Vegetables, Rice and so on. Those foods contain healthy, naturally occuring sugars.
Say “NO” to: white table sugar, white flour products (like bagels, white bread, white pasta, and pizza) cakes, chocolate bars, candy, ice cream, soda etc.
You get the idea.
If nature made it, it’s likely ok.
If it’s man-made, heavily processed, and/or comes in fancy packaging that makes you feel like you just HAVE TO have it – it’s like going to hurt your health and your testosterone levels.
Testosterone Destroyer #2: Trans Fats

Trans Fats are TOXIC. As bad as refined Sugar.
And the really bad news is: many heavily processed foods contain both!
The easy way to avoid Trans Fats is to:
- Avoid eating processed food
- Cook in Coconut Oil
- Use other Oils – like Olive Oil – COLD (do not heat them)
That’s it. That’s all you need to do to avoid Trans Fats.
Testosterone Destroyer #3: Soy
Often called a ‘Health Food’ – Soy is nothing of the sort.
It’s in most processed foods, and it’s proven to lower your Testosterone Levels AND raise your Estrogen (female hormone).
Avoid at all costs.
And, if you don’t drink Milk, but want an alternative – never, ever use Soy Milk. Instead, go for Coconut Water or Almond Milk.
Testosterone Destroyer #4: Excessive Alcohol Consumption

A glass of red wine can be good for your Heart, apparently. Though, why not just eat red grapes?
And, German Weissbier can have some digestive benefits.
Fair enough.
However… the way many guys drink alcohol (daily, or binging on it) is a health disaster. Providing too many calories (hence the ‘Beer Belly’) and ruining sexual performance. Hence the name Whiskey Dick!
In my opinion, you’d be better off without alcohol in your life – if you want MAXIMUM performance in bed. But, if you insist on drinking it, keep it to a drink or two a week.
Testosterone Destroyer #5: Processed Meats
Did you know that they feed certain animals highly estrogenic foods – like Soy? This fattens them up, and gets them ready for slaughter, faster.
Then YOU eat this meat… full of antibiotics, growth hormone, and a nutritional profile that’s NOT what it should be (because the animal has been fed a less than optimal diet).
Can this really build health?
Er, no. No it can’t.
And, it won’t do anything good for your Testosterone Levels to eat meat that’s high in Estrogen!
In my opinion, cheap processed meats are probably the #1 food to avoid if you value your Health, Happiness and Testosterone Levels.
In fact, Cheap Processed Meat is now classified as Carcinogenic (meaning: they’re finally admitting it helps to cause CANCER). This article explain more
What to Drink…

No article on Nutrition for Testosterone would be complete without discussing what to DRINK.
After-all, you could last WEEKS without food (you might not enjoy it, but you likely could). However, you’d be dead within days, without fluids.
So, let’s spend a little time discussing…
Pay attention:
Most people drink Soda, Coffee, Tea, Store Bought Fruit Juices, “Energy Drinks” and so on. All are full of sugar, artificial sweeteners/colourings/preservatives, stimulants and so on, to various degrees.
None are healthy. Most are fattening (even the low or no calorie Diet versions).
In fact, calorie laden drinks (like the ones from Starbucks for instance) are probably the biggest source of HIDDEN CALORIES in most people’s diet.
After all, most people realize that a Burger and Fries from Mickey D’s is full of calories. But, I’m not so sure they know that a White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino Blended Beverage from Starbucks has around 440 calories (or, nearly a quarter of an average man’s caloric needs for the entire day! In one freakin’ drink).
So, you really would be doing yourself a favor by cutting back on the drinks listed above, and focusing instead on:
- Drinking 2 litres of clean water a day
- Having fresh, home-made fruit/vegetable juices (for instance: celery juice, carrot/apple/beet/lemon juice, cucumber and apple juice)
- Enjoying home-made smoothies, similar to the one I gave you a recipe for earlier in this blog post
- Drinking Superherb Teas like Rock Hard Formula
Drink like that. Eat as we’ve discussed. Take your 2 teaspoons of Rock Hard a day… and healthy Testosterone Levels, and a high level of Sexual Performance, shall be yours!

18/03/2022 - 6:58 pmI notice on all 3 of your products that I have received( Rock Hard, Go All Night, and Pine Pollen), the daily doses in your articles seems to be greater that that on the product containers. Please clarify
Adam Armstrong
21/03/2022 - 6:21 amHi Kevin,
With Pine Pollen, follow the doses on the label.
With Rock Hard and Go All Night, do the same – 1 scoop a day. The issue here may be that
we used to sell Rock Hard and Go All Night in packets (and the packets said “2 teaspoons” – which
confused a lot of people). So we switched to tubs, and the tubs contain 1 easy scoop (the same as
2 teaspoons a day). Sorry if we haven’t updated all our articles to reflect this. But the instructions
on the label are bang up to date.
Thanks,
Adam

14/07/2021 - 3:07 pmHi Adam,
I just started using Rock hard formula and I thought the label says 1 level scoop per day? I have been reading this post and reading to take 2 scoops daily. Is 2 the minimum /day and does this mean a pack is only good for 15 days @ 2 scoops/day? Should this be 2 scoops in one drink which I drink in the morning before breakfast. Is 1 scoop/day just to begin and work up to more after that? The only thing I don’t like about it is the taste. I am a sweet tooth(not as much nowadays-long story) and I have table pouches of organic pure birch Xylitol( not the chinese crap that has corn in it). 3 pouches does it for me to stand the taste which I’m still getting used to.
I also have some of the “Go all night” and 2 things: Is this ok to use in the same drink as the Rock hard formula or should this be a separate drink around suppertime? Should I also use 2 scoops / day even though it says 1 on the label? Thank you for your help and your hard work!
Adam Armstrong
15/07/2021 - 2:23 amHi Eric,
Apologies for the confusion. When we used to sell Rock Hard in Packets, it was 2 level teaspoons. Then we switched to tubs (because customers wanted it) and we included a scoop. 1 scoop is the same as 2 level teaspoons. Hope that makes sense.
Here’s what I would say:
– The taste is bitter. But the only way to NOT have that particular formula taste bitter is if we used CRAPPY herbs. The strong taste comes with the quality and potency of the herbs we use! It’s worth it for the potency it can help you achieve in the bedroom! 🙂
– You can take it daily, but morning is best (or 30-60 minutes before a workout, or sex). I like to sweeten it with Raw Honey or Organic Maple Syrup. Add enough and there is no bad taste, only sweetness! (I like sweet tastes too – so raw honey is my best friend)
– Yes, Go All Night and Rock Hard can be used together or separately. The most important thing is to get them in your system on a consistent basis.
– For Go All Night – same deal… use 1 SCOOP (if you have the scoop in the tub).
– I like to add Go All Night to a smoothie. Because it has a mellow, almost toffee like flavor, when you mix it with flavors like vanilla, raw honey, berries, chocolate and so on – you can make sure really INCREDIBLE tasting, incredibly nutritious smoothies
Hope this helps!
If you have more questions, just ask,

13/06/2019 - 12:02 pmHey Adam. Nice to see your posts again, and good job creating that website (I was following you on the “betterinbed” website before, and didn’t realise that you stopped updating it until some time passed).
I humbly disagree about the fact that going as far as eating 100% clean all the time will make a whorthwile difference compared to 90% clean. At least, according to my experience. Allow me expand (sorry, the post will be a little long):
Years ago, my lifestyle was pretty much garbage, and I decided to change it. Adopted strength training and fell in love with it, researched a lot about nutrition all these years, and of course, I did a lot of experimenting. After cleaning up my diet substantially and reaping all the benefits (honestly, around 90-95%) clean, I decided one day to go full 100%, (even keeping a journal of meal composition, caloric intake, etc. to make sure I stayed disciplined enough). However, contrary to my expectations, I barely noticed any change on any aspect (sleep, energy, productivity, strength levels, etc.). Finally, got fed up with it (and missed the occasional treat) after 2 months and a half and went back to around 90% clean. No change for 4 months, and a lot easier to sustain. I decided to experiment further on myself, and “slacked off” a little to bring my diet down to around 80% clean. For 3 months. Extremely small changes, so insignificant it could just be due to dumb luck or some specific life circumstances.
Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to illustrate, by my personal experience, that when you already eat, sleep and move as best as you can pretty much all the time and allow yourself some treats here and there, and you’re healthy of course, the body pretty much shrugs it off easily, and it makes sense to me since I believe the body “wants” to be resilient and not so fragile to depend that much on a tiny percentage of improvement. Or it’s like being a silver medal sprinter and you’re trying your best to become a gold medalist, and we all know only tiny fractions of time separate the two, compared to entire seconds if an average joe is taken for reference. In my personal case, going as far as a 20% “dirty eating” did’nt have any consequences.
One last thing: I’m aware that I’m still young (just reached 30 two months ago) and I may have been blessed with good genetics. However, I’ve also coached several people trying to lose fat/build muscle and I’ve found out that going from 90-95% to 100% doesn’t make a notable difference to them, and for most of them, even 80% is great, and often translates to better adherence to diet long term. Of course, there are always outliers, but they represent the exception to the rule. Those are my experience and my views. Please let me know what you think, and keep up the great work!

13/06/2019 - 3:56 pmZoubair, I appreciate your detailed comments, and respect your thoughts on this
topic my friend!
My feeling is that when you really tune in to your body, and how it feels, there can
be differences to be noticed between 90 and 100% clean eating. Maybe not HUGE differences
for everybody, but differences nonetheless.
I think the older you get the more important it is, too. As you say, you’re young. Imagine
when you’re 60, or 65. At that point, you’ll have to improve your ‘game’ a little each year,
just to try and maintain your old self.
But, I think we’re in agreement on most things! And, I’m very happy to hear you are into
STRENGTH TRAINING. I think it’s something every man should do. But sadly, these days, many guys
barely have the strength to walk up a flight of stairs once they hit middle age.
Keep up the good work!
Adam
