How to Increase Your Income – 3 Money Making Ideas

If You’d Like to Earn Some Extra Income, without Working Crazy Long Hours, Here’s How to Do it…

By Elliot Newman

When I was a kid, like a lot of other boys, I wanted to be a Footballer. I mean, that’s the life, right?

You get paid MEGABUCKS to play a sport you love.

Honestly though, now I’m older – and running a successful business – I’m not sure I’d want the life of a Pro Athlete. Sure, the idea of playing a sport you love and getting paid for it still appeals…

But, it’s not without its problems. Injuries, physical burnout, pressure to take unhealthy Performance Enhancing Drugs and so on. It’s really not all glamorous, even at the very top of pro sports.

And, if you do a contact sport – like American Football, Rugby, Boxing or Mixed Martial Arts – you’re literally trading the health of your BRAIN for MONEY. And, I’m not sure that’s so smart!

Note: according to this article, 96% of ex-NFL players have brain-disease!

How about music?

Oh yeah! It’d be great to be a Rock Star, right?

Well, kinda.

I mean sure, if you make it BIG, you earn A TON of money.

But, imagine what it must be like to be on the road for months on end, constantly travelling, doing gigs, living out of a ‘trick out’ coach, never sleeping properly, and with endless demands being placed on you to do interviews, autograph signings and Lord knows what else.

Look. I’m not stupid.

The life of a pro athlete, big time musician, or Hollywood A-Lister certainly has its perks. But, if you want to earn more money. I don’t think it’s the best way.

And, since you’re reading this – you’re probably past the age when you could ‘make it’ as a pro athlete anyway 😉

So, what are your other options?

3 Proven Ways to Increase Your Income…

#1: Get a Second Job (not recommended)

Listen. The most obvious way to make more money is to get a SECOND JOB.

In the short run, for a limited period of time, this may be okay. But, in the long-run, it’s like selling your soul to the devil…

You end up living to work. And while you have more money, you’re miserable, because you never have anytime to spend it!

So, assuming you already have a job that takes up something like 40 hours of your life each week, I don’t recommend getting a 2nd job as a way to increase your income (not in the long-run anyway).

#2: Invest (and make money while you sleep)

Investing is how people get RICH.

You start off by SAVING some of what you earn, then you INVEST it in things that grow that money.

When interest rates are HIGH, you can just keep money in the bank, and it’ll grow a few percent each year. Trouble is:

  • Interest rates are NOT high right now

And:

  • Unless you have A LOT of money sat in a savings account that’s paying a high level of interest, it’s won’t produce a life-changing increases in your income (as an example: if you had $100,000 sat in a bank account paying 5% interest… that’d be an extra $5,000 income next year. Adjust for inflation and it’s less than that)

So, what should you invest in?

Here are some options:

  • Property. A safe ‘long-term’ bet, provided you know what you’re doing. You can earn income along the way – by building houses, renovating and selling houses, or getting rent payments. If you keep hold of the property, and earn money from the rent, you’ll also gain WEALTH in the long-run, as the value of the property rises
  • Stocks and Shares. Generally more volatile and risky than the property market. The appeal is potentially bigger GAINS in a shorter time frame. The downside is potentially bigger loses too!
  • Classic Cars. One of the best things about investing in classic cars is that when you come to sell them, you don’t pay any TAX on the profit you made (at least here in the United Kingdom anyway)

In reality, very wealthy people earn more money by investing in a wide range of things. Including all of the above, and more. This spreads their risk.

The only problem is…

To INVEST in a big enough way to really make a difference to your income – you really need MONEY to start with.

Try buying a house or a classic car without money. It’s not going to happen (unless you start borrowing money, but that’s a story for another day, and makes things a lot more complicated).

Here’s the solution…

#3: Become an Entrepreneur (run your own business)

My honest opinion is that to have true FINANCIAL FREEDOM – and the ability to increase your income on a regular basis, year in year out – you need to be an ENTREPRENEUR.

You need your own business.

Think about it…

If you have a regular JOB – you are answerable to someone else. If you work in a large corporation, they’ll tell you when you’re getting a pay rise, not the other way round.

The job market is also reliant on things like ‘qualifications’. Meaning that oftentimes you won’t be able to get a job that’d earn you more money, simply because you didn’t go to the right college, and you don’t have the right pieces of paper to say what grades you got!

Life as an Athlete, Rock Star or Movie A-Lister kinda has these drawbacks too. You’re working for other people. You’re answerable to them. They can FIRE YOU if they want. The media can spread lies about you, fans can turn on you, and, well

That’s not a life I’d aspire to.

The life of an Entrepreneur (business owner) is different.

Sure, it can be tough.

I remember working many 16 hour days – glued to my computer screen – when I quit the job I hated (in the property industry), and started my own business.

Easy it was not.

Worth it?

Hell yeah!

You see, these days I have control…

If I want a holiday, I can take it.

If I want to increase my income – I simply CREATE VALUE in the marketplace. Maybe I create a new video course, or a new supplement… something that’ll really help my customers to improve the quality of their lives!

If I do a good job – they PAY ME, and they’re grateful for the thing they’ve paid me for.

Everyone wins.

That’s the best bit about entrepreneurship… CREATING VALUE.

Key Point:

All other things being equal – the more VALUE you create, the more you GET PAID.

So…

If you really want to earn more money – I don’t recommend simply working harder, or working more hours. Because you will literally ‘work yourself into the ground’.

Instead, work smarter.

Become your own boss. Set up a company based around something you are passionate about. Create value for your customers. And revel in the fact that you’ll have true financial control in your life – with the ability to INCREASE your INCOME whenever you like!

Oh and by the way…

To succeed in business, and maximize your income, you need ENERGY. Real, all day, every day energy.

One of my favorite ways to ensure my energy levels are high is to take ReCharge.

Recharge is a safe, natural superherb blend, and many of our customers use it in place of their morning coffee, to give them HIGH energy levels (without the ‘energy crashes’ you can experience of consuming caffeine, or high carb sugary snacks).
