5 Common ‘Lifestyle Habits’ that Are Secretly Destroying Your Health

There are many things people do in today’s modern world that are just kinda accepted as part of our ‘Modern 21st Century Lifestyle’. The problem is…

Many of these things slowly but surely DESTROY your health, over time. Chipping away at your Vitality, until eventually you’re a shadow of your former self.

My advice?

Avoid as many of them as possible… (and, of course, you can avoid them all if you want. As the old saying goes: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way!”)

1. Having Your Mobile Phone Switched on When You Don’t Need it

Smart Phones have become an integral part of our modern lifestyles. And, I’m as guilty as anyone of using mine quite a bit (calls, texts, videoing lifts in the gym to check technique, emails, photos on family days out… yup, I do all that).

However, while the phone companies tell us phones are completely safe, you don’t have to do much research to start seeing the research that says the OPPOSITE!

People getting tumors in their head, on the same side they use the phone. People getting tumours in the hip/groin area, on the same side they have their phone in their trousers. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

So, look, I’m not saying to give up your phone – just to limit your exposure to it.

Here are some tips to help you do that:

  • At night, turn it off or put it on flight mode
  • Whenever you make a call, use Loudspeaker (this way you avoid pumping Electromagnetic Frequencies (EMFs) directly into your Ear/Brain)
  • Whenever possible, keep your phone away from you as much as you can! So, when driving in your car, don’t have it in your pocket. Instead, put it in the trunk. When you’re in your office, put it on the other side of the office
  • If you have children, get your phone away from them as much as possible! Their skulls are thinner, and therefore provide the brain with less protection from EMFs than adults have!
  • Consider getting a Cube in your Home. In theory, this will protect you from ALL EMFs… from phones and other devices

Ultimately, many experts agree that phones damage us in many ways, and can lower testosterone and fertility. If that doesn’t make you want to at least REDUCE your exposure to EMF, I don’t know what will!

2. Drinking Out of Plastic Bottles

Drinking more WATER is GREAT.

But, I’d never recommend you drink Tap Water, or, as is now trendy – water from PLASTIC bottles.

Why the hate for plastic?

2 reasons:

  • First, it’s been shown that the plastic leaches into the water, and when you drink it on a regular basis, it ends up raising your ESTROGEN and lowering your TESTOSTERONE. Basically – it’ll make you more FEMININE and less MASCULINE
  • Second, our planet doesn’t need more plastic. Do a Google Search for something like “Plastic Bottles in the Sea/Ocean” and you’ll see what I mean. The stuff doesn’t get recycled and it’s literally ruining the world we live in

3. Relying on Caffeine to Give You ‘Energy’

If you still believe that caffeine gives you REAL Energy – here’s why it doesn’t…

The more caffeine you have, the more you need over time! People start out feeling nice and energized from ONE cup of Coffee a day. Then one becomes two, two becomes three, and three becomes TEN or more!

Why?

Because caffeine is a STIMULANT. And, although it makes you feel a nice BUZZ, the buzz is always followed by a CRASH, and, in layman’s terms…

…every time you “crash” you have reduced your body’s natural ability to produce energy just that little bit more. Until you get to the point where you literally can’t function without caffeine all day long (or caffeine and sugar).

Question is:

“If you want to feel energized, without relying on caffeine to make you feel energized (while actually burning you out), what should you do?”

Try:

  • Eating clean, natural, organic foods
  • Getting hydrated
  • De-Stressing
  • Sleeping well
  • Exercising moderately

And so on.

It works. You just gotta have the balls to STOP doing what everyone else is doing (which is something like: slowing poisoning themselves to death over the course of 70-80 years, feeling progressively worse and worse with each passing year), and instead… do what you know is right! Which is pretty much what I just listed above in those 5 bullet points! 🙂

4. Exercising Badly

Here’s an interesting ‘Lifestyle Habit’ that’s destroying a lot of people’s health and performance:

Exercising BADLY!

What do I mean when I say: “Exercising Badly”

Well there are a million-and-one ways to exercise badly, but here are 2 common examples:

  • Doing lots of steady-state long-distance jogging/running… this can have negative effects on the heart, causes most people who do it to MOUTH BREATHE, and, I don’t know about you… but I rarely, if ever, see anyone jogging mile after mile who looks HAPPY, or in good shape (they usually have TERRIBLE POSTURE, and appear to be in pain)
  • Using bad technique while doing resistance training. I see this all the time in the gym, and not only does it make you WEAKER, it also injures your JOINTS. I love Strength Training, but the first rule is… get your technique right (because it makes you STRONGER and protects your Joints, Muscles, Tendons, Ligaments and so on). But I’d say 80% of men who do resistance training actually know nothing about the technique and lift horribly

So exercise is certainly a part of a healthy lifestyle. But, doing it BADLY isn’t the answer! Yet, it’s what most people do. And, most men have this horrible Ego problem where they won’t ask for help when it comes to exercise, especially with regards to lifting weights.

Yet, the truth is – the strongest men on the planet nearly all have coaches, or train with other experienced lifters and they all coach each other. Yet Billy Gym Rat (with the big arms and no legs) is too MACHO to seek help and guidance! Go figure.

5. ‘Burning The Candle at Both Ends’

In today’s fast-paced world this is common…

Go to bed late.

Get up early.

Drink Coffee and Energy Drinks, and consume tons of refined sugar, and maybe snort some Coke to get through the day.

Mistake.

BIG MISTAKE.

Depending on a person’s genetics, they may get away with Burning the Candle at both Ends for a while. A decade. Maybe a two. 

But, sooner or later it catches up with them, and health issues and diseases arise.

Remember:

A dynamic day, that is both mentally and physically challenging, is the basis for a great night’s sleep. And, vice versa.

But, you gotta get the SLEEP. Both in terms of HOURS and QUALITY.

To miss out on sleep on a consistent basis, is one of the worst ‘lifestyle habits’ many people fall into – and it slowly but surely RUINS health and performance.
