Advanced Nutritional Strategies to Improve Your Health & Performance

Want to Take Your Mental and Physical Performance to a Whole New Level? Give Some of These Ideas a Try…

By Elliot Newman

Look. If you’ve read my Email Newsletters and Blog Posts for a while – you’ve likely heard me talk about Health & Nutrition A LOT.

My overall philosophy is to eat a Natural, minimally Processed Diet, that’s made up of as many Organic Foods as possible. And, no one who has even the smallest degree of knowledge on Health and Nutrition would argue with that.

It’s a no-brainer.

It’s all about eating the highest quality foods possible.

That said, today I want to share a few ADVANCED Nutritional Strategies with you – so you can take your Health, and both Mental and Physical Performance to a whole new level.

Let’s get into it…

5 Advanced Nutritional Strategies to Supercharge Your Health, Energy, Vitality and Performance…

#1: Rotate Your Food Sources Regularly…

This applies particularly to Eggs, and Protein Powders.

Most experts agree that Eggs are one of the healthiest foods a human being can eat. However, if you eat your eggs the same way every day, you can develop an allergy to them! Then, what is one of nature’s most perfect foods, suddenly becomes something that is poisonous and toxic to your body!

Not good.

So, by all means, eat 2-4 eggs on a regular basis. Just be sure to stick to the following 2 points:

First, buy Free Range, Organic Eggs. You’ll know you’ve found great eggs when the yolk is really ORANGE. Your best bet is to buy from a Local Farm or Farmers Market.

Second, eat your eggs in many different ways… boil them, fry them (in Coconut Oil), make an Omelette, Poach them, Scramble them and so on. Also, on occasion, try Duck Eggs instead of Hen’s Eggs.

When you follow these 2 key points, you get all the BENEFITS of Eggs ( including the fact that they can help boost Testosterone and make you much Stronger and more Muscular), without the risk of developing an allergy to them.

With regards to Protein Powders – the same rules apply. Buy the very best quality you can find, and rotate the type you use every 2-4 weeks. For instance: Grass-Fed Whey, then Pea Protein, then Hemp Protein, then back to Whey, and so on.

In reality, you’d actually achieve the very best results in terms of Health and Performance if you rotated ALL your foods on a regular basis…

  • Your Protein sources (Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Fish, Eggs and so on)
  • Your Carbs (Fruits, Starchy Vegetables, Grains etc)
  • Your Fats (Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Nuts and Seeds, Avocado, Fish Oils and so forth)

And even:

  • Your Supplements

#2: Use Some Kind of Intermittent Fasting…

We live in a period of history where more and more people ‘live to eat’, as opposed to ‘eat to live’.

The result of this is mass obesity (40% of people in the US and growing by the year) and all the associated dis-eases – particularly diabetes and heart disease.

What do people who ‘live to eat’ often do?

They eat ALL DAY LONG.

Breakfast starts not long after they wake up, and snacking is still going on and 11pm at night, in front of the sofa (watching mindless reality TV), when they should be asleep in bed.

Now, ‘Intermittent Fasting’ has become a very trendy phrase in recent years. And, it’s quite easy to rite-it-off as ‘just another Diet Industry Fad’. But, that’d be a mistake…

…because one of the healthiest things you can do is to restrict the window within which you eat every day. For example:

Start eating at 8am, and finish eating at 6pm (that’s a 10-hour window).

Or:

Start eating at 8am, and finish eating at 4pm (that’s an 8-hour window). And, from what I’ve read – 8 hours seems to be where the Magic really begins with Intermittent fasting. When you only eat during an 8 hour window each day, the gains in Health and Performance seem to really skyrocket.

Whatever ‘eating window’ you choose, you can, and should, still drink plenty of water throughout the day, and you should still choose best quality foods (there’s no point doing Intermittent Fasting if you’re going to eat Fast Food, Candy and Ice Cream 3 times a day).

#3: When You Feel Less Than 100%, Fast!

I remember as a kid, whenever I was unwell, and my appetite was non-existent, my Grandmother would always try to feed me. Usually some kind of disgusting Chicken Soup, or Lasagna that was worse than inedible (I love my Grandma, but her cooking has always SUCKED, and likely always will).

Now, my Grandma was only doing what MOST people in the West do when they, or someone they care about, is ill…

They try and FEED them.

Well, guess what?

When animals are ill, they FAST! Instinctively. Because they know that fasting is the FASTEST way to get better.

You see, when you’re ill, your body doesn’t need the stress of having to digest extra food!

So…

When you feel under the weather – just do smoothies, freshly made vegetable juices and water. Or, just the juices and water.

You’ll be amazed at how much faster you can recover!

Think about it this way… your appetite disappears when you’re ill for a reason. Because your body doesn’t need food at that point. To ignore what your body is telling you is NOT a good idea!

#4: If You Workout In The Morning, Try THIS ‘Pre-Workout Protocol’…

Many people struggle to get the RESULTS they desire from their workouts – whether it’s fat loss, muscle mass or gains in strength.

Well, let me tell you…

Your Pre, During and Post Workout Nutrition can literally make or break your gains.

Right now, I’d like to show you what I consume 30-45 minute before my morning workouts:

  • I eat 2-3 teaspoons of Raw Honey

You won’t believe how mentally sharp, and physically ready you are to train when you have that as your Pre-Workout Meal.

I’ll talk more about what to consume DURING and AFTER your workout, in a future Blog Post.

#5: Eat What is In Season…

These days, if you live in a big city in the Western World, you can eat whatever you like. I live in England, yet I can eat Italian, Japanese, French, Vietnamese , Chinese, Ethiopian , American, and so on.

If I go somewhere Cosmopolitan, like London, I have access to literally EVERY kind of cuisine I can imagine. And, of course, it’s nice to try different foods now and then.

However, the healthiest way to eat, by far, is to eat what is natural to the environment you live in, and what is IN SEASON.

Remember how earlier I talked about rotating your food sources to avoid allergies? Well, if you eat only what is in season, you’ll naturally do this without having to try.

And, if you buy from Local Farmers Markets, instead of Supermarkets, you’ll really only have access to what is Local and In Season!

Think about it…

Certain Fruits will only be available in the Summer. And, others in the Winter.

Certain Veggies will only be available in the Summer. And, a different set in the Winter.

Got it?

Good.

Give as many of these Advanced Nutritional Strategies a try as you can. And, see what a difference they make to your Health and Performance.

I think you’ll like the results 🙂
